My Utmost For His Highest

December 25, 2006

His Birth and Our New Birth

Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, God with us Matthew 1:23

His Birth in History. “. ….. that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God ( Luke 1:35 ). Jesus Christ was born into this world, not from it. He did not emerge out of history; He came into history from the outside. Jesus Christ is not the best human being the human race can boast of” He is a Being for whom the human race can take no credit at all. He is not man becoming God, but God Incarnate, God coming into human flesh from outside it. His life is the highest and the holiest entering through the most humble of doors. Our Lord’s birth was an advent, the appearance of God in human form.

Hungry for More

Well, I shut down the main thrusters that is my “retail holiday mentality” and started my glide-pattern into this holiday weekend but it seems my customers aren’t paying any attention to my subtle efforts to slow things down. They’re determined to make me work through the Christmas season.

The “last 30-day” total did dip down under $9,000 for awhile but as you can see orders keep coming in and unless I fold this sucker up completely as the family is unwrapping their gifts this holiday season I’ll be wrapping my customers orders.

Putting on The Brakes For The One I Love

Looked over at the “Wifey Poo” the other night and saw the beginnings of a frown forming on the side of her mouth and decided it was time to put the brakes on the push….push…..push…..that is this years retail holiday season on ebay.

The Push…push….push mentality is like riding a bike. All it takes is getting back on and the ghost of yesterdays past rides again like the wind. That said, I’m certainly not in the same “fighting shape” I was when I spent year after year riding the retail bike that was the meat industry. Who knows, I may never be in that type of “lean mean” retail fighting-machine shape again.

Can MarJans break 10000

Can we break $10,000

There’s just no way I thought MarJan’s MarketPlace would break $9,000 for a 30-day period this year, especially after I sold most of my “high-dollar” cell phones back in September.

So this kind of month has been an eye-opener for me in many ways. Those wondering whether you can create cash flow on ebay should wonder no further. Ebay can deliver the traffic necessary for a fledgling business, willing to do its part to get on its feet.

Some large orders came off my 30-day total last night but I’ve had many large orders this morning already that popped the cork off the $9,000 lid.

Oh so close

Oh so close

Another big evenings worth of sales will keep me hopping tomorrow. Lots of orders to fill and supplies to replenish.

Hey guess what? I’m finally feeling like I’ve got a little “itty-bitty” business here. I keep telling the “Wifey Poo’ these past six months and especially the last three are just laying a beginning bedrock foundation of satisfied customers to get some momentum going.

Up up up and away

ClimbingUp…up….up…and…..away!!

The crest of this particular sales wave must be cresting soon or at least I think so.

Sales keep coming in at a brisk pace but this chart changes dramatically throughout the day as old sales drop off and new sales come on.

Pushing this “30-day” sales total up to around $9,000 for my first Christmas on ebay has not been without considerable effort but doesn’t even begin to approach the limits of where I’ve been tested in the past. Not even close!

Over $8,000 For The Last 30 Days and Climbing

Cracked $8,000

I think it’s because it’s my first Christmas on ebay and I’m still selling one of the first products I chose as part of the Auction Genius Course back in February, but it’s been exciting to be a small fish in a big pond and watch my gross sales revenue numbers on ebay go up more than I expected they would in this short a time. For years I’ve mentally prepared myself for my entry into the self-employed sector of our society to be a long gruelling excursion into excellence. I don’t want overnight success.
