January Update
It’s the last day of January and the total for the month is $7,613. All in all I’m pleased with these results for the first month of 2007. I didn’t know what to expect coming out of the holiday season.
Each month feels like a new adventure. Lots to do in February.

Ahead of Schedule
In my blog post entitled “A Positive Word About Ebay” back on September 21st 2006, I stated the following,
I am paying over $100.00 per month now and every penny is worth it. I hope I am paying $1,000 per month this time next year.
Well it didn’t take half as long as I thought to hit the $1,000 mark in ebay fees for one month. The nice thing is that in December as this total increased the ebay fees “as a percent of sales” decreased.

Letter from my daughter
Adventures abound all around us. One such adventure being explored is my daughters.
Honesty is a trademark I pride myself on. Being objective and brutally honest in a loving way toward “anyone” asking opinions of me is an obligation I feel called to do.
My daughter gave me permission to post this correspondence we had with each other yesterday in the hopes someone may be touched both by the relationship we have with each other and the struggle she is having in trying to discover the “next step” in her life’s adventure.

Who holds the power

I’m still a little kid at heart.
I’ve read some of the super success stories Internet Marketing Geniuses use to sell their e-books and monthly newsletters. If I was silly enough to compare those stories with “my last 90-day” total on ebay I’d be embarrassed to even share it.
But I’m damn proud of the little bit of gross sales I’ve been able to generate on ebay over the last three months.

Love when that happens
As business grows and my customer base broadens the more specialized emails I get for large specialty type orders from new and repeat customers.
It’s just such a pleasure to be nice to a customer, make them feel like a king or queen and create a win win situation for both of us.
I purchased thousands and thousands of pieces of electronics and other Radio Shack products when I made “The Purchase” back in July. A majority of the items have not been listed yet and wait patiently for their chance to be gobbled up on ebay.

Steady as she goes
I’m at $3,828 for the first 16 days of January. It’s been a different kind of month, in that I haven’t been as focused as I normally am, which is OK for a while.
Sometimes it’s good to kick back a little and discover what type of current you’ve created before thrusting forward to increase its force.
While I’m not going to get rich with the results from this January, I’m pleased with the consistency of the orders coming in. And like my former CEO use to preach at the drop of a hat whenever he had more than one of us Sales Reps in front of him, “You’re not successful unless you’re selling the entire portfolio of products in your bag”.

Cash Flow
The first week of 2007 was dramatically down from the last 6 weeks of the 2006 holiday season but still respectable. The first 7 days of January brought in $1,538.
Cash flow is everything to me now. The last month and a half have allowed me to fill my bank account and get a little bit of a head start for 2007.
I’m as happy as a clam.
The cold ocean-spray of the prevailing head winds that move my ebay adventure, pelt at my face and force blood to the surface. This is living.
