The End Of Joe Slick-No Way

So the other night I’m enjoying a peaceful dinner when suddenly, ruthlessly and completely unprovoked I’m attacked from across the table.

It’s the “Wifey Poo” come to deal me a mortal blow against the locks of what’s left of my defenseless and receding hairline.

“When are you going to change that hair of yours? You’ve had the same hairdo for 20 years, doused with a handful of the stiffest gel and slicked straight back with a course comb. Ya look like a con-man ready to pull a sting operation.”

Certain Type of Mentality

Well I’m closing in on one full year working with me myself and I. It takes a certain type of mentality to be able to keep oneself happily entertained throughout the day. Luckily such a mentality comes naturally to me. I have no problems whatsoever :-).I vaguely remember the so called advantages of being connected to the umbilical cord of big business. To my mind this next video perfectly captures my opinion of those so called advantages.

Love Those Repeat Buyers

Results

As I struggle to get a hold of some of the “innerds” of my ebay business in order learn how to squeeze profit from every nook and cranny available I’m heartened by the increase in repeat buyers.

You would be suprised how little I look at statistics like this. Ebay does an excellent job providing all the necessary information to get inside and know your business. At this point in my ebay adventure, I maybe look at this stuff once a month. I should do it more but I’d rather watch Seinfeld.

Giving 110 Percent Regardless of Outcome

In the past, “I really put too much focus into each shot, or too much merit into every shot,” he said. “I was too focused on, ‘Okay, if I birdie this hole, I can do this’ or ‘If I make this putt, I can move up here.’

“Now, my focus is more on the process and the routine of each shot rather than the outcome,” he explained. “As a result, I see my outcomes tighten up and be a lot better. In other words, I don’t care where [an individual shot] goes. I’m going to give it 110 percent, — every putt, especially — but if I make it or miss it, I’ll do the same thing again on the next one.

30 Day Ebay Results

Thank you !!

These are my Terapeak stats showing my ebay results for the dates between April 16th and May 15th.

Some of the statistics mean less to me than they used to. The “Sell Through” rate which lets me know what percentage of my auctions sold during a 30 day period is a misleading stat.

The recent increased United States Postal Service rates forced me to increase my shipping rates and revise dozens of auction templates housed within Inkfrog, the third party auction service I use.

Spread that Jello

Movie Clip of Mr. Sardonicus
1965 was a good year. I was a happy 8-year old kid living in a small house in Kenmore New York just outside of Buffalo. It’s funny, when you’re eight years old, the world you know is big and small at the same time. It’s big enough that each day brings new wonders to experience but small enough to embrace those wonders unencumbered by the weight of any serious responsibilities.

The world of an 8-year old also has the potential to be filled with unimaginable terror!!

Today’s generation of desensitized 8-year olds would laugh out loud at this film. But in 1965 America, to an overly active and highly imaginative mind, this scene from the 1961 horror flick Mr. Sardonicus imprinted on my visual cortex an image so shocking that it literally prevented me from closing my eyes for days.

Now, in case you’re wondering, I wasn’t looking to torture myself with this image. It was a hot summer’s Friday night as I sleepily made my way downstairs to hit the one bathroom in our small home.

Our Absolute Best

Where does power lie, real power, the power that overcomes the death grip of security, self-satisfaction and defeat? The mind? Give me a break! The mind is a tool nothing more.

Limitless power, that power that separates, stands against the current and leaves a legacy, is to be found one place only.

The heart.

These are the questions I posed to myself after watching this video.

  • What would my absolute best look like?
  • Would I be willing to give my absolute best if I knew I woudn’t receive any recognition?
