eBays New Best Match Search Tool
Hmmmm, this is interesting. Just finished reading a couple of excellent posts over at Auction Insights explaining eBay’s new “Best Match” search option currently being tested in a few select eBay categories.
I highly recommend reading these articles, as if the new “search by relevance” criteria is adopted as the default search method across all categories on eBay, it constitutes a major change significantly effecting both the buying and selling experience on eBay.
If I was a betting man, I’d bet we best get ready for “Best Match”, cause it’s here to stay.

eBay Tweaks Search Tool to Benefit Stores?
“eBay Stores Benefit from Usability Change”
Shows you how much I know. I didn’t even know that “Stores” link under the main colored eBay logo was there. So now when you click that “Stores” link you get taken straight to only the eBay store auctions. Hmmm…not a big deal, but every improvement helps.
Seems like whenever any new feature is added the biggest challenge is communicating the feature and benefit to their user base.

New eBay Feedback Test Program Cancelled
After reading this article entitled “eBay Cancels Test of Community Court Feedback Program” published by Auction Bytes, I’d love to know why eBay had to cancel the test program.
Doesn’t seem like a bad idea at first glance. There must be some things eBay knows that I don’t
.
Any thoughts??

The Perfect eBay Seller
Along long time ago in a distant galaxy, before I sold Medical Devices to Hospitals scattered throughout the plains of Indiana, I worked for that same Medical Device Company as a draftsman in Orchard Park, New York. It was a typical nine to five job with a great bunch of guys and gals strategically housed into a Rubik’s Cube maze of comfortable eyeball tall constructed cubicles, I was always getting lost in and never able to remember all the addresses of.

Positive Word About eBay
MY TAKE:
I just finished reading an article posted over at MSN entitled “Should eBay’s Meg Whitman resign?” and want to say a few positive words in defense of eBay.
Maybe it’s just me, but I don’t get all the “bitchin” about eBay. To read some of the comments posted by readers of that article and this eBay article at the New York Times, you’d think eBay had paid a hit man to kill their dear old Aunt Matilda. Yumpin Yimminees….what drives an eBay seller’s frustration level to these heights?

eBay Gift Cards
Selling gift cards around the holiday season on eBay is big business. I was reading this morning in my AuctionBytes NewsFlash for December 18th that like most everything else sold on eBay you can get a real bargoooooooon on gift cards around the holiday season.
BUT the smart eBay shopper must beware of gift card scams.
I did a search this morning and there are over 4,400 eBay gift card auction listings. Yikes!, that’s a lot of plastic cards with money on them. The AuctionBytes NewsFlash reports that gift cards from stores like Home Depot, Lowes, Office Max and Starbucks are Okie…Dokie while you should be more careful of those from stores such as Victoria Secret, Abercrombie & Fitch and American Eagle.
