Product Aquisition

Taking Notes on ebay Products

Since I lost half my eBay business I’ve been looking for new products to sell on eBay.

Here in South Bend Indiana two huge Pep Boy auto parts and service stores went out of business. I was hoping to purchase some of their inventory at the kind of liquidation pricing I received from Radio Shack back in the summer of 2006. However Pep Boys sold their entire inventory right after the New Year, probably to some huge liquidation house. Pep Boys had hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of dollars worth of merchandise in just their two stores here in South Bend.

eBay Product Ideas

Ran across these sites reading the paper this morning. Some interesting products for the home. Some of these are being sold on ebay.

There are contact pages on all these sites for you to ask for product information from. But if you can’t sell them on eBay maybe you can use them in your home. Or maybe they’ll generate a practical idea or two for you to use somewhere.

I’m going to create a blog category to store eBay product ideas.

The Perfect eBay Seller

Along long time ago in a distant galaxy, before I sold Medical Devices to Hospitals scattered throughout the plains of Indiana, I worked for that same Medical Device Company as a draftsman in Orchard Park, New York. It was a typical nine to five job with a great bunch of guys and gals strategically housed into a Rubik’s Cube maze of comfortable eyeball tall constructed cubicles, I was always getting lost in and never able to remember all the addresses of.

The Multi-Headed Monster

Can Of WormsNo joke……each new can of worms you open is just chalk full of “Learning Curves” ready to sap hours…..no make the days worth of time from my all ready full schedule.

Oh..but..I forgot..everything is just so eeeeeasy to learn and do……isn’t that “theeee” line being sold on the Internet these days. No wonder so many people succeed at Internet Marketing.

Before I talk about my slow day take a “Tera”….peak at the nifty eBay search tool located on the left side of my blog. I get to throw this on my blog since I’m a member of Terapeak Market Research. It’s a pretty cool search tool and I’ll be using it myself.

Saying Hi To the Unexpected

3 Doors Down I’ve still got thousands of odds and ends I haven’t listed from the Radio Shack liquidation purchase I made almost one year ago. I’ve probably tripled my money on this investment and it helped jump start my eBay education.

One of the items I left on the shelf was this CD of 3 Doors Down. I didn’t have a clue who this band was so there they sat on my shelf. I purchased about 40 of these at a buck a piece.

About a month ago I threw these on eBay not thinking they’d do a thing. Wrong…these things sell great at $10.00 bucks.

Proud to Call My Own

Every once in awhile we need to stand on top of “NOW” in order see “THEN”.Huh…….I’ll get back to this in a minute.

Business has picked up a bit over the past couple of weeks. Through the first 18 days of March I’ve had gross ebay sales of $4,290 on 151 sales of 223 total items. It’s certainly nothing like the Christmas season but sales have been encouragingly steady. I’ve not added any additional product lines like I initially thought I might by this time.

Going slow has advantages. It allows me to “SEE” different areas of my ebay business and gives me time to think of ways to extract the maximum amount of profit from them. Simply put, going slow increases my ability to produce quality work.

I didn’t carry the dream of owning my own business for 30 years to do anything less than my personal best. In fact I’ll take that statement one step further.
