The Fog
Our Illusive Companion
Curiosity and exploration are character traits that don’t need coaxing from me. This dynamic duo of a skill set is constantly bubbling to the surface of who I am and plays a major role in the derailment of my immediate financial targeting.
At the very heart of the man or woman pre-disposed to exploration is the repelling of things as they are and the natural gravitation toward innovation and the unknown.

Mindmapping My Future
One of the things I enjoy most about my eBay adventure is exploring the amazing web sites all over the Internet. There is no sense in being your own boss if you can’t kick back and leverage the unique position you have placed yourself in by doing what others aren’t allowed to do during their work days.
Forced sweating breeds emotional fretting
So I thought I’d engage my audience this morning and let you take a peak through My eBay Adventure’s spyglass at the vast universe that is the Internet these days.

Taking Pictures For eBay
Confusion and distress creating a dense fog of doubt seem to materialize most easily down in the sub atomic particles of the daily individual details of whatever it is we’re set on accomplishing.
There are so many talented, and I do mean talented eBayers on the Internet that know a zillion times more than I do it’s amazing.
So why should I share my two cents worth of eBay knowledge?
Ahhhhhh……would you believe………I’ve got nothing better to do this morning while I drink my first cup of strong french pressed coffee

Staying Fresh Takes Time
Oh to be a worker in France. Although French workers must be upset over the increase in their work week from 35 to 39 hours per week, companies are still mandated by the Government to give them a minimum of 5-weeks vacation each year.
Most workers receive more than 5 weeks, and many receive up to 8 weeks vacation per annum. An interesting article worth reading compares the worker’s lifestyle in France verses that of an American worker’s lifestyle.

A Balanced Life

My primary focus for the first year on my own was about converting the “balanced life” I led for 33 years working for “The Man” into a “balanced life” working for myself.
I’ve been absolutely ruthless to keep my “spiritual blinders rigidly in place” and not fall prey to the endless myriad of Internet “Get Rich Quick” schemes flying carelessly about on the digital airwaves these days. Instead I decided to flush the few legitimate wealth creation business models down the drain for the first year and focus the bulk of my attention on the spiritual aspects of entrepreneurship not the physical.
I’ll bet you won’t read that anywhere online or in a book.
Spread that Jello
Movie Clip of Mr. Sardonicus
1965 was a good year. I was a happy 8-year old kid living in a small house in Kenmore New York just outside of Buffalo. It’s funny, when you’re eight years old, the world you know is big and small at the same time. It’s big enough that each day brings new wonders to experience but small enough to embrace those wonders unencumbered by the weight of any serious responsibilities.
The world of an 8-year old also has the potential to be filled with unimaginable terror!!
Today’s generation of desensitized 8-year olds would laugh out loud at this film. But in 1965 America, to an overly active and highly imaginative mind, this scene from the 1961 horror flick Mr. Sardonicus imprinted on my visual cortex an image so shocking that it literally prevented me from closing my eyes for days.
Now, in case you’re wondering, I wasn’t looking to torture myself with this image. It was a hot summer’s Friday night as I sleepily made my way downstairs to hit the one bathroom in our small home.
The Hardest Sale
The last two weeks have seen sales slow down appreciably; who knows why. I’m determined not to panic. Total sales in March were $6,411 on 233 sales of 328 items. To date I’m around $20,000 in total gross sales on eBay for the first three months of the year, below where I need to be if I’m going to reach my goal of $100,000 for the year in total gross eBay sales.
I haven’t changed any of my pricing. My feeling is to stick with what got me this far. I notice others selling my product lines that weren’t there before. Their pricing is absurd and I believe they won’t be around long with that kind of pricing even if they’re just trying to gain market share.
I’ve taken to listening to Sydney Johnston’s Auction Genius Live Course audio lessons I have on my hard drive. I listen most days while performing some of my more tedious tasks.
As stated in my last post, this blog may be changing direction. I’m thinking of using “my eBay adventure” to make me a few bucks and learn some “search engine optimization” at the same time.
My mind is changing on many business fronts and it’s exciting. I still feel “in the womb” when it comes to grasping the true “Entrepreneurial Spirit” that lives and breaths inside Sydney Johnston, “but its a coming”. I can feel it.
