Progress Update
On Becoming a “Twit”
I’m entering a new……let’s not edit myself and my ideas so much phase.….So buckle up and hold on to the side rails of your computer chair cause it could get a little crazy round here.
Not judging or editing your ideas is what brainstorming experts making a gazillion bucks call it in the books they sell. I prefer the layman’s definition which is………throwing “a heap of crap” against the wall to see what sticks. You know…….what candidates running for President do every four years, when they try and find negative stuff to publicize about their opponents.

Up 40,000 in traffic
See what a few more posts can do to your web traffic. Since I became the Traffic Cop back 10 days ago my eBay adventure’s Alexa ranking increased by 40,000. Not bad

Usable..Unique..Updated
According to Seth Godin, the creator of Squidoo, the three UUU’s necessary to a popular web presence is content that is;
Usable, unique and updated.
If you want to attract readers don’t write for the shear pleasure of self-expression, write with your audience in mind.
What will my audience find usable? How can I present my usable content in a unique way and how do I create enough usable and unique content to keep my website regularly updated?
Of course Seth is right, these three UUU’s are essential to building an “popular” web site that readers will do what I term, the three RRR’s;

eBay Traffic Cop
Good morning fellow eBay enthusiasts! There was a time when this blog held an Alexa ranking of around 50,000, which is not to shabby. I also had an article syndicated about my eBay adventure through Knight Ridder Newspapers back in March of 2006.
All that ended when I left my full-time job and concentrated on my little eBay business. I stopped concentrating on marketing this blog and concentrated on what I felt were more important aspects of my life.
This is the honest to God’s truth, since June of 2006 I have not told one person either online or off line about the existence of this blog, unless asked, and that was only a couple of times.

eBay Buyer’s Vengence
Received my second neutral the other day. Sassin….Frassin…Crassin….Brassin…
What did I do?
This customer emails me about one month after she purchased an $85 Coffee Maker and doesn’t like the way it works and wants me to take it back.
Huh ????? I email her back and stated I was sorry she was dissatisfied with the performance of the coffee maker but as my auction states under the returns and refunds section,
“Please note: If the product has been used beyond testing for functionality it will not be accepted as a return for refund.”

Summer Progress Update: Just the Facts…Jack
Summer has been slow on eBay. Total gross sales in June on eBay were $5,770 on 188 sales of 248 items. July was better with total gross eBay sales of $6,770 on 192 sales of 300 items. I had another $300 sale in July off eBay that pushed my total gross revenue over $7,000 for the month.
When business is slow it’s a good time to prepare for when business will increase which is what I have been doing this week. I spent yesterday rearranging my downstairs to be able to handle more inventory for the Christmas season.

Chicago Merchandise Mart
Our trip to the Chicago Merchandise Mart went as planned. Walking around Chicago was great, walking around the Chicago Merchandise Mart was less great.
We arrived at the Living & Giving Trade Show about 1:00PM on Sunday. I was ready to go home about 2:00PM Sunday. Most of the items at the show I would categorize under the “knick-knack-patty-whack-give-the-dog-a-bone” category, and this old man he wanted to roll-on home.
But trooper that I am, I went to most of the shops and collected manufacturer’s catalogs anyway. I only stopped collecting catalogs when I started to carry them like a girl.
