Normal Serving

Say hi to my lovely daughter Valerie. Val’s out on her own now and sent her Daddy a beautiful album full of family pictures for Father’s Day.

I’d forgotten this picture and when I saw it again I couldn’t help but do what I do best and that’s make a comment about the glaringly obvious.

What your witnessing here is “bigger is better” at its best. This is a single serving Cobb Salad my daughter ordered for $7.99 at a place called Lunkers just outside of South Bend Indiana.

I literally burst out laughing when the Waitress set this on the table and asked her about three times if she was sure she didn’t bring us the family size serving.

“Nope”, was her confident reply. “This is our normal serving.”

Normal…….What the ?????? Look at this thing.

When Val put her tiny fork on top of this “ginormous” thing I thought I was going to die I was laughing so hard.

It took two take-home containers just to get what was left over home.

I’m not going to say anymore about this but doesn’t it speak volumes about the culture that surrounds us?

Wow, looks like it’s got about 2 lbs of meat on it! They’re food cost must be outrageous! Making me hungry though. I love a good cobb salad.

I love a good Cobb Salad myself James and was able to enjoy this one for a couple of days after Valerie brought in home :-)
