Our Absolute Best
Where does power lie, real power, the power that overcomes the death grip of security, self-satisfaction and defeat? The mind? Give me a break! The mind is a tool nothing more.
Limitless power, that power that separates, stands against the current and leaves a legacy, is to be found one place only.
The heart.
These are the questions I posed to myself after watching this video.
- What would my absolute best look like?
- Would I be willing to give my absolute best if I knew I woudn’t receive any recognition?
- Who loves me enough to call the absolute best out of me?
- How many people are there in my life I would do my absolute best to carry on my back across the finish line?
- Am I willing to wear a blindfold to anything that would prevent me from doing my absolute best?
- Am I willing to give my absolute best in full view of the majority around me satisfied with giving less than their best?
- What finish lines are worthy of the absolute best my heart can give?
- Am I willing to be misunderstood, laughed at, and persecuted in exchange for knowing I’ve given my absolute best?
- Will I negotiate with my mind, body and spirit each day to achieve the next step toward my absolute best?
- Will I suffer the pain necessary, with joy, in order to achieve my absolute best?
Our absolute best lies beyond our understanding, beyond where we “think” we can go.
Our absolute best lies isolated, rotting in the dungeon of our small hearts, crying to be set free from the invisible fences we erect to “fit in” with the world around us.
Why should we do our absolute best? Why should we suffer gladly all things just to cross a finish line others will never know exists and we see only by faith?
These are questions worthy of our close examination, worthy of our life and worthy of our heart’s absolute best.
