Progress Update
My full time job is requiring me to travel most of this week and next week.
Since I’ve simplified my ebay auctions and went to a “Buy It Now” fixed price listing I’m seeing a steadier stream of buyers. This is very encouraging and is worth studying the reason “why”. Is it because I’m viewed as a reputable seller since I have a fixed price “Buy It Now” next to each item? Maybe having an ebay storefront adds a bunch of credibility, who knows, I’m just asking questions.
What’s nice to me is knowing I’m receiving a profit on each sale after factoring my upfront expenses such as shipping, ebay fees and Paypal fees. It takes the guess work out the auction process and makes me feel like I’ve got a real store and that there’s a market for what I’m selling.
I created a spreadsheet to calculate my profitability based on all my expenses and the ratio of successful auctions verses unsuccessful auctions. I don’t want to exclude the fact I’m still paying insertion fees of either .70cents or .95cents on auctions that don’t sell.
I’ve contacted other coffee product manufacturers for product information and pushing forward as best I can. I’m not looking for homeruns just singles and focusing on selling in volume for many reasons which I will expand on when I have time.
Janet’s been packaging the items this week and doing a great job. She’s a real trooper! Janet works full time and also has responsibilities outside the home. I ended up going over yesterday’s sales with her at 10:00PM for her to package. I lucked out finding her didn’t I ?!
At 10:00PM after in-servicing Medical Devices in Surgery and talking with Anesthesiologists and Nurses all day, trying to help Janet get around ebay’s Selling Manager” is a challenge. It’s a good thing I’ve got a lot of patience. HAH!! I could spend entire day just learning ebay’s “Selling Manager” for myself. There’s a lot there to grasp in “Selling Manager” and take full advantage of.
Holding down two occupations is challenging but there are advantages that I’m going to leverage while I can.
