Internet Gold Rush

Is it possible to make an honorable living online today? I “aims” to find out. The deeper I sink into this rabbit’s hole the more crap I’m sure to find. I recently received another email from one of the countless “Expert Online Entrepreneur’s making a gazillion bucks off product recommendations through their ever growing email list.

What startles the daylights out of me is the utter lack of consciousness these “Expert Online Entrepreneurs have toward those who put their trust in them.

They know full well that ninety nine point nine percent of their followers won’t make a dime off their sure-fire recommendations. They know that only those like themselves with huge email lists can possible take advantage of these recommendations.

If these Online Experts honestly don’t realize what there doing it’s because they’ve spent countless nights selling themselves that it’s OK to sell these products to their customers. They sooth themselves to sleep at night with the line they’ve been sold by fellow Online Experts that it’s the buyers final responsibility to check this product out for themselves, I’m just bringing it to their attention. Yea right, sleep tight in your mansion Scrooge McDuck! Ya jerk!

Shame on them! Shame on Online Experts who lead those who trust them with their wallet not their heart!

Yes, the customer is the final authority and responsible for the decisions they take but come on, where’s online common decency these days?

Today’s Internet reminds me of the early days of the California gold rush in 1849 San Francisco when morals got shoved out the way in favor of my right to a stake in my own personal pot of gold. It’s mine mine all mine and I mean to get mine before you get yours. Pathetic!

Scenes of panners racing to plant their flag laying claim to a section of stream bed before their friend or family could get to theirs graced these greedy days of early America.

What a scene human nature paints on our world when we deliberately put on our 3D love of money glasses. We can’t see the hurt and humiliation, nor do we take the time to care, we cause our fellow man and we feel justified by the high position of esteem they credit us with.

It feels oh so good to look down at the little people who’ve placed us on our pedestal……….doesn’t it?

I’m tempted to name the name of the person I received this email from but I won’t. Let’s just say he has is well respected throughout the online community.

Those reading My Ebay Adventure please know I’m a work in progress and make no claims to human perfection but dang it, I’m giving it my best shot! Will I be able to make an honorable living being an Online Entrepreneur? Not if I follow the same path as many in today’s Internet Gold Rush.

What makes My Ebay Adventure a true adventure is not taking the same greedy path to success so many take online these days. The path I cut through my online frontier is my own and I don’t know if it even exists but I aims to find out.
